SMC3 Integration
LTL carriers publish rates through SMC3 tariffs. Instead of maintaining spreadsheets or manually checking carrier websites, SMC3 integration pulls current tariff pricing directly into TMS.ai based on origin, destination, freight class, and weight.
When quoting or rating shipments, SMC3 rates appear automatically with the SMC3 logo identifier. The system applies current pricing rules including fuel surcharges, accessorials, and special handling fees. You can rate multiple carriers simultaneously to compare pricing.
Understanding EVA Access IDs:
An EVA Access ID is an ID assigned by SMC3 for each company in their system. In general, you'll have one EVA access ID that associates you with multiple carriers. In some cases, you may have multiple EVA access IDs, especially for large enterprises or logistics service providers. Manage EVA access IDs using the SMC3 User Credential Manager.
Setting it up:
- Get your SMC3 credentials from SMC3 when you first sign up:
- Client ID (if you encounter issues, contact AllianceSupport@smc3.com)
- Client Secret (if you encounter issues, contact AllianceSupport@smc3.com)
- EVA Access ID (managed through SMC3 User Credential Manager)
- In TMS.ai, go to the Partners section
- Click "Connect to SMC3"
- Enter your Client ID, Client Secret, and EVA Access ID
- For each partner carrier you want SMC3 rates for:
- Go to Partners > Select Partner > Widgets
- Click "Add SMC3 Partner"
- Enter the carrier's SCAC (Standard Carrier Alpha Code - unique identifier for the partner)
- Enter the Billing Account Number (the billing account number that the partner will charge to)
- Save the configuration
Verifying and using the integration:
To check if a partner is linked to an SMC3 tariff:
- Go to Partners > Select Partner > Data Panel
- Look for the SMC3 Integration section
To identify SMC3 rates:
- Follow the standard rating workflow in TMS.ai
- SMC3 rates will appear with the SMC3 logo
Disconnecting SMC3:
- At Partner Level: Go to Partners > Select Partner > Data Panel > SMC3 Integration and toggle off the integration
- For Entire Organization: There's no explicit way to disconnect SMC3 for your entire organization, but you can disable all connected partners separately
