Pre-Built Reports & Analytics

What are Pre-Built Reports & Analytics?

Pre-Built Reports & Analytics are ready-to-use performance dashboards that track the metrics that matter most to transportation operations. Rather than starting from scratch every time you need to understand business performance, these reports give you instant access to load volume trends, profitability analysis, carrier performance, and dozens of other key indicators.

These reports are built on datasets that pull from across your entire TMS.ai platform. Orders, shipments, invoices, carrier data, customer information. Everything is connected, which means your reports reflect the complete picture of your operations, not just isolated data points.

The analytics module includes reports for operations teams tracking daily execution, finance teams monitoring cash flow and profitability, and management reviewing high-level business performance. Each report is designed around common questions transportation companies need to answer quickly: Which lanes are most profitable? Which customers generate the most revenue? Where are we seeing the most delays?

How Pre-Built Reports & Analytics work

  1. Access the Analytics module from your TMS.ai navigation menu. This opens your analytics dashboard where all pre-built reports are organized by category.
  2. Select a pre-built report from the available options. Reports cover areas like Executive Summary (high-level KPIs on load volume and profitability), Carrier Performance (on-time rates, cost per mile), Customer Profitability (revenue and margin by customer), and Invoice Status (outstanding receivables, payment trends).
  3. Apply filters to narrow the timeframe or scope of what you're viewing. Every report includes standard filters for date ranges, customers, carriers, lanes, and other relevant dimensions. When you apply a filter, all charts and tables in the report update instantly.
  4. Interact with charts to explore specific data in more detail. Click on any bar in a chart to drill down, hover over data points to see exact values, or select time periods to zoom in on specific trends.
  5. Set up automatic email delivery for any report you need to review regularly. From the report dropdown menu, choose Schedule Email Delivery, then specify the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly), delivery time, and recipients. Reports can be sent as PDF, PNG, or CSV formats depending on the content type.
  6. Download reports as PDFs at any time for sharing with stakeholders or archiving. This is available in both Analytics Tier 1 and Tier 2.
  7. Enable access for team members without seat limits. Admin users can grant access to any user role in your organization, so operations, finance, and management can all view the reports relevant to their responsibilities.

What it means for you

Pre-built reports mean you're not spending hours each week manually compiling data from different sources to answer basic business questions. The information is already there, organized in a way that makes sense for transportation operations.

When your operations manager needs to know which carriers are consistently late on a specific lane, they can pull that report in 30 seconds instead of exporting spreadsheets and doing manual analysis. When finance needs to review aging receivables before a collections call, they have real-time visibility into every outstanding invoice with customer payment history.

For management, the Executive Summary report provides the dashboard view of load volume and profitability that helps you spot trends before they become problems. You can see if certain customers are becoming less profitable, if specific lanes are underperforming, or if operational costs are creeping up relative to revenue.

This transforms reporting from a time-consuming administrative task into strategic intelligence that drives better decisions across your business.
