MacroPoint Integration

MacroPoint

Brokers need to track carrier trucks, but most carriers use different ELD systems that don't integrate directly. MacroPoint solves this by tracking any carrier's truck using their driver's phone number, giving you real-time location updates every 15 minutes without requiring specific ELD hardware.

The MacroPoint integration is currently supported for point-to-point orders only (single pickup, single delivery). It triggers tracking in two ways: by driver phone number or by power unit. Location updates from MacroPoint refresh every 15 minutes by default.

What appears in TMS.ai:

Four new MacroPoint-related fields are added to the right side Data Panel (read-only, populated once MacroPoint tracking is enabled successfully):

  • MacroPoint Tracking Status
  • MacroPoint Session ID
  • Last Known Location Timestamp
  • MacroPoint Update Frequency

MacroPoint tracking also reflects on the Order details map. Hover over the blue location dot to see the last known location of the load (the location when MacroPoint was last pinged).

Setting it up:

  1. Contact your TMS.ai account team to request MacroPoint integration
  2. Provide your MacroPoint API username, password, and MPID Helper credentials
  3. Submit credentials through the integration setup form in TMS.ai settings
  4. The MacroPoint request will be completed in 1-2 days from when the form is submitted
  5. You'll get a confirmation email once the integration is set up and ready to use

Using MacroPoint tracking:

  1. Create a point-to-point order (single pickup to single delivery) in TMS.ai
  2. Assign the carrier and enter the driver's mobile phone number in the driver information section
  3. Open the order detail view and locate the MacroPoint Integration widget
  4. Click "Enable MacroPoint Tracking" to manually trigger live tracking
  5. The system sends a tracking request using either the driver's phone number or the power unit ID
  6. If needed, you can update driver details and it will update the existing tracking session

The live tracking can be triggered manually from the Order details view via the MacroPoint Integration widget. The phone-based approach works with any carrier who has a driver with a mobile phone—no special apps, hardware, or software required.

Note: Transfer of documents (BOL, POP, POD) between MacroPoint and TMS.ai is currently not supported.
